Hexagone is a free daily game about French cities: five cities, one stat, get the order right. Every day you play four rounds; in each one you drag five French cities into the right order for a single theme: population, density, surface area, distance to Paris, distance to the sea, or northernmost, all from official INSEE and IGN records.
You score up to 900 points a day and share a colour-coded grid of your result: 600 from the rankings themselves (25 per exact placement, 10 per near miss, 25 per perfect round), 200 from the "6th place" side bet each reveal offers, and 100 from a closing bonus round that hands you a blank map of France and one more city to pin. One puzzle per day, the same five-city line-ups for everyone, so scores are comparable with friends.
Hexagone is a free daily French-cities ranking game. Each day you play four rounds; in each, you drag five cities into the correct order for one theme, such as population, density, surface area, distance to Paris, distance to the sea, or northernmost.
A day is worth 900 points from three sources. The rankings pay 600: 25 per correctly placed city, 10 per near miss (one spot off), plus a 25-point bonus per all-green round, where green means the exact right place, orange one position off and red further away. The "6th place" side bets pay up to 200, and the closing map pin up to 100. Ties break on total time.
Rounds draw from official commune records: population, density (inhabitants per km²), surface area, distance to Paris, distance to the sea, and how far north the city sits. Four different themes each day, and more stats (income, students, property prices) are planned.
After the last ranking round, Hexagone shows a blank map of France and one more city: tap to drop your pin, confirm, and see how many kilometres off you were. The closer the pin, the more of the round's 100 points it banks. It is optional, and skipping it never touches your streak.

Yes. Hexagone is completely free, with no account, no sign-up and no download. It runs in any web browser on phone, tablet or desktop, and can be installed as an app (PWA).
A new puzzle is published every day at midnight in your local timezone. Everyone playing the same calendar day gets the same city line-ups, so scores are shareable and comparable.
Hexagone is fully playable in English, French, Spanish and German, each at its own address: hexagone.live/en/ for English, /fr/ for French, /es/ for Spanish and /de/ for German. The bare address redirects you to your own language.
Every value comes from official French public data: INSEE legal populations and the IGN commune registry, served by geo.api.gouv.fr. Distances are measured as the crow flies from the commune's centre, and each round cites its source.
